Epoxy Filled Gold Weber
Nickel Weber Stainless Steel Weber
Nickel Universal Gold Universal (new style)

Two-piece burnished Stainless Steel

Our tailpieces are cast from silicon bronze and stainless steel.
The bronze tailpieces are finished with either gold or nickel
plating. The stainless steel tailpieces are textured and then
heat-treated to slightly color the background and enhance
the "W" design.

The tailpiece insures a secure attachment for the strings at
the strongest part of the mandolin body - directly above the
tail-block at the edge of the rim.

The tailpiece should easily fit all of our instruments and most
other standard tailpiece designs. All  of our instruments are
hand-crafted and the tailpiece holes have always been drilled
by hand so there may be slight variations in end pin and screw
hole placement between instruments.

We will always be available to assist with a replacement,
if needed.

Changing Strings

To change strings on our one-piece tailpiece:

Bend the end loop of the string up, slightly before sliding
it under the top of the tailpiece. This will help the string
slide up the ramp easily. Then, with a slight rotation of the
string, seat the loop over the hook in one motion. Check to
insure that the loop is close to the bottom of the hook.

We recommend inserting the string from the bridge side
of the tailpiece to avoid scratching the top of the instrument.
If you need to insert the string from the back of the tailpiece,
cover the top of the instrument with the suede cloth that came
with your instrument (or another soft cloth) before inserting
the string.

 Prices

Our cast tailpieces, designed by Vern Brekke, are both functional and good looking.

The strings are
easy to change and the tailpiece will never rattle.

The string windings are covered so they will not shred your arm or shirt sleeve.

The extra mass of the cast tailpiece
anchors the strings better and seems
to improve the tone of our instruments.

The machined end-
pin/bolt will never accidentally fall
out and drop your instrument to the floor.

The universal tailpiece does not have the Weber "W".

Our one-piece cast tailpiece is designed to fit Weber instruments.  Although it may easily fit other instruments, we are not responsible for any problems or structural damage resulting from a retrofit on a non-Weber instrument.
